The International Police and Veterans Foundation (IPVF) Awards Ceremony was held in New York.

Tijjani Muhammad-Bande, President of the 74th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations, received the Goodwill Ambassador Award,

former New York City Police Department deputy chief Charles Scholl received the Philanthropist Award,

Strategic Alliance of Asian-American Non-profit Organizations chairman H.E. Sir Jim Lin-Chi Chu, Ph.D received the Philanthropist Award,

former West Orange Deputy Mayor Dr. Gonzalo Velez and his wife Dr. Josie Velez received the Lifetime Achievement Award,

New York City Police Department Deputy Inspector and Commanding Officer of 109th Precinct John L. O’Connell received the Outstanding Leadership Award,

Sino American Commerce Association president Sir Dr. Gary Kong received the Philanthropist Award, and International Cultural Ambassador, soprano Jane Maria received the Philanthropist Award and was awarded the title of International Cultural Ambassador.

The International Police & Veterans Foundation (IPVF) is a non-profit organization, and is duly recognized by the Attorney General of New York State.

IPVF membership consists of active and retired personnel, without distinction as to rank, sex, race, color, language or religion. IPVF promote global friendship and culture exchange among the law enforcement officers, veterans and all front-line first responders.

Through grant funding, corporate funding and private donations, IPVF aim to give recognition and support to the brave individuals; provide scholarships to their children and provide supports to their widows and family.

The International Police and Veterans Foundation (IPVF) also provides non-profit services such as elderly assistance, tax filling, food assistance, self-defense, and security patrols etc by establishing a branch, the Prosperous Community Foundation (PCF).

The purpose of the establishment of PCF is to empower the citizens of every neighbourhood with the skills and knowledge to create safer and more resilient communities.

PCF believes that Chinese communities not only have the responsibility, but the capacity to contribute to the safety and well-being of every New Yorker.

The Social Security Team under PCF has played a role in ensuring the safety of local communities.

The Confederation of Chinese Association in Scotland New Year's Renewal Celebration Gala was grandly held in the Grand Ballroom of the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel in Glasgow, Scotland.

Danna Hou, Acting Consul General of the Chinese Consulate General in Edinburgh; Annette Christie, Bailie of Glasgow; Douglas Dodds, Provost of Stirling; Jim Todd, Provost of East Ayrshire; Robert Bissett, Provost of Falkirk; Donald Balsillie, Provost of Clackmannanshire; Jim Leishman, Provost of Fife; Andy Chan, Bailie of Perth & Kinross; Tony Yip, Chairman of the City of London & Westminster Conservative Association Chinese Conservative Group, and other representatives from all walks of life in Scotland attended the gala.

Lui On Lee OBE, president of the Confederation of Chinese Association in Scotland, and Thomas Ho, the chief vice president, have served the confederation for 23 years, and officially handed over the affairs of the association to the new generation of overseas Chinese leaders Sai Wing Lee as the president and Lingyun Tian as the chief vice president.

Vice President Tina Yam was appointed as the chairman and has contributed to the Chinese society for 43 years, MS Yam will continue to support the work of the new presidents, and compose a new milestone of Sino-British friendship based on the concept of Hong Kong and China mainland as one family.

The celebrated soprano singer, International Cultural Ambassador Jane Maria believes that the influence of a song is far greater than a thousand words.

The California International Music and Art Festival Competition (hereinafter referred to as the "Contest") will be held online in Los Angeles from September 19th to September 26th, 2020.

1. This competition includes the following eight individual categories and four group categories:
Individual Categories

piano (solo and concerto), violin, cello, percussion, woodwind, brass.

Vocal : classical, folk, popular, chorus.

Dance: Ballet, Western, modern, Chinese folk, oriental. (Solo, duet)

Group Categories

dance, chorus, orchestra, Chinese folk orchestra.

2. This competition is open to musicians and artists from all over the world.

The age of the participants: 5 years old and above.

Piano, violin/cello: 5-6 years old, 7-8 years old, 9-10 years old, 11-12 years old, 13-14 years old, 15-17 years old, adult group

Woodwind/Bronze/Percussion: 5-6 years old, 7-8 years old, 9-10 years old, 11-12 years old, 13-14 years old, 15-17 years old, adult group

Vocal: 6-8 years old, 9-12 years old, 13-15 years old, 16-18 years old, adult group

Dance: Children's Group Juvenile Group Youth Group Adult Group

Note: The age of applicants for each competition is based on the birthday of August 1, 2020.

3. The competition will invite no more than 30 piano players, 30 violin players and 40 singers. Participants will be selected by expert judges designated by the competition organizing committee through a preliminary contest (evaluating application materials and watching videos).

Application requirements

Participating videos must be sent to the person in charge of the participating unit or uploaded to Youtube (unlisted mode) and submit the link.

The application materials should include the following documents and materials:

Application form
Copy of identification;
Resume (English or Chinese, about 100 words, PDF format);
1 color photo (JPG format, 300dpi pixel resolution, suitable for close-up photos for publicity);
Graduation certificate (copy or scan, art students can provide the student ID of their college, if any);
Individual registration does not need to be recommended but the instructor needs to be filled in. Group registration can be registered at the music or dance or instrumental music school you are attending. Please fill in the recommended teacher and recommended school.
List the programme's details in DOC format, indicating the key points, chapters, and duration of the repertoire.
3-5 minutes video (videos recorded after May 2019, without editing, free choice of programme). The video should be shot from the audience's perspective by a fixed camera, without interruption in the same musical chapter. It is strongly recommended to provide high-quality videos.
